Wild Horse Traverse Charity Run

PURPOSE
The main purpose of our charity run is to raise awareness and fundraise for local charities while enjoying the beauty and challenge of running in Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park. The route is challenging and represents how fortunate we are to be able to do this!

Our 2025 charity run will support the Canadian Mental Health Association and Friends of the South Slopes / Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park. Both of these charities contribute in a positive way to our community and share similar values to ours at P.A.C.E.

FUNDRAISING
Participants are required to fundraise a minimum of $150 to participate. 

50% of the proceeds are donated to CMHA and 50% of the proceeds are donated to FOSS (Friends of the South Slopes) to help with future trail maintenance and building within Okanagan Mountain Park. 

TAX RECEIPTS
All donors receive a tax receipt immediately after any donation enters the CHIMP system and all tax receipts are issued by CHIMP: Charitable Impact Foundation.
REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2025 charity run is limited to the first 50 runners to sign up through CHIMP: Charitable Impact Foundation.

Runners must raise or donate a minimum of $150 to participate. If you haven't met the $150 minimum by June 14th you will be required to donate the remaining amount. Thanks for your cooperation.

​Step 1: click the following link to set up your giving group under the 2025 Wildhorse Charity Run . If you don't have an account with Charitable Impact, you'll need to set one up first.

Step 2: click the green "create a giving group" button on the right hand side and then you can donate or start fundraising!

Step 3: fill out your registration form. (this will be emailed to you after June 5th)
LUNCH
Post run festivities will take place at the lake, just below the parking lot/start of the run. Bring a towel and change of clothes if you want to cool off in the lake afterwards.

We will have cold beverages and snacks, however please feel free to pack more of a lunch if you prefer.

ROUTE #1 - 32K GPX FILE 
ROUTE #2 - 22K GPX FILE

ROUTE #1 - 30k / 1800m *great training run for those doing 50k Broken Goat*

Starting at the Boulder trailhead, runners will climb up to the summit of Divide Lake, before descending down Mountain Goat Trail and then turning around and heading back up! This is a challening (and scenic) out and back route. 

Back of pack:  allow approx. 7.5hrs to finish

Mid to back of pack: allow approx. 6hrs to finish

Mid to front of pack: allow approx. 5hrs to finish

Pre-Requsites
You must show up trained and prepared for the physical demands of this distance/elevation. Our team will do some screening in the final weeks heading into the event and if we feel you are not properly prepared, we will move you to route #2. Please note that this is for your safety and the safety of all participants as this route is also very remote.

ROUTE #2 - 22k / 1100m *great training run for those doing 25k Broken Goat*
Starting at the Boulder trailhead, runners will climb to the summit of Divide Lake and back.

Depending on how many people sign up for this option, we may only offer 2 groups:

Mid Pack to Front of Pack - allow approx. 4hrs to finish
Back of Pack to Mid Pack - allow up to 5hrs to finish
