  • Variety of socials throughout the clinic.
Our in-season clinic provides athletes with different 18-week ultra-running training plans to choose from. Each program is designed to prepare athletes to tackle mountain running races, multi-day stage races or events/goals with lots of elevation gain and loss.

The progression of this clinic begins with a proven model of three building weeks followed by a recovery week to allow your body to make the most of the training that preceded it. Training cycles will mainly focus on muscular endurance, boosting fatigue resistance and building stamina.

Athletes sign up based on their long run volume. For example, if your long run is currently 2hrs to 3.5hrs and you want to keep it in that range, you would sign up for the 25km training group. If your long run is currently 3+hrs and you want to build or keep it in that range, you would sign up for the 50km training group.

From here, you can choose which program best suits you, such as training for a 25km event, 50km event, multi day event etc., Our programs and coaching provide specific performance modules to allow you to adapt the tools to your own personal goals.
Wednesday sessions break the workouts down into 25k & 50k training options, although Coach Rene works very closely with her athletes and adapts workouts based on individual needs as the clinic unfolds. She is there to push you and keep the positivity flowing while you're pushing. Athletes can expect intervals, fartleks, time trials, terrain management, tempo training, vertical challenges and more.

6pm sessions (May 6 to Aug 26 )
These workouts are broken down into different training durations to cater to a variety of fitness levels and goals, and athletes can expect intervals, fartleks, time trials, terrain management, tempo training, vertical challenges and more.

Sunday workouts
focus on building that important endurance base. The 25km training group will build their long run up to 3.5hrs and the 50km training group up to 5hr long runs. Most long runs are broken into smaller groups of 5-10 athletes and assigned 1-2 team leaders to guide and support each group. The groups are pre-assigned by Coach R based on your experience, fitness & skill level and the information provided on your registration form. As your fitness and/or skills progress, you may request to bump up a group.

7am long runs (May 10 to July 18)
Focus on maintaining and building that all important endurance base with leader lead long runs, enduro style races and vertical challenges. Please note: After July 18th, there are no leader lead runs. We find the summer to be a busy time for our athletes and team which is why we provide detailed training plans and athletes can communicate through the running app to make plans for the long runs together. Coach R also makes location and route suggestions during this time.

Requirement to Join
25k - 3hr long run. Running minimum 3x's per week.
50k - 4hr long run. Running minimum 3x's per week.

Athletes can expect the majority of the runs to be adventure focused and leader-lead, although we do schedule some solo runs, vertical challenges and enduros (mini race scenarios).
