Fall Trail Running Clinic
​15k, 25k

August 21st to December 8th
​

This clinic is great for anyone who still has late summer or early fall races on the calendar or those who have wrapped up their race season and needs a proper "off season" training plan to maximize recovery, maintain their fitness and work on improving technique while they start to work on their 2025 goal setting.

During this 16 week clinic, the first 5 weeks of the clinic offers group training on Wednesday's only. The following 11 weeks offers group training on Wednesdays and Sundays. Each participant will receive a 16 week periodized training plan to follow and the group workouts will be incorporated into each plan. These plans are written by professional running coach and Salomon Pro Squad athlete, Rene Unser who has been coaching athletes for almost 20 years.

Wednesday sessions break the workouts down into 15k & 25k training options, although Rene works very closely with her athletes as the clinic unfolds. Athletes can expect intervals, fartleks, time trials, terrain management, tempo training, vertical challenges and more. 

Sunday workouts focus on maintaining (in the first half of the clinic) and building (in the second half of the clinic) that all important endurance base.
15km - 2hrs by the end of the clinic
25km - 3.5hrs by the end of the clinic

Requirement to Join
15km - 45min long run. Running minimum 2x's per week.
25km - 90min long run. Running minimum 2x's per week.

What's Included
  • Wednesday coached speed/strength session. 
  • Sunday long runs. Athletes can expect the majority of the runs to be adventure / leader-lead focused, although we do schedule some solo runs, vertical challenges and enduros, which are mini race scenarios. 
  • 1 race enduros for athletes to practice race day scenarios, strategies and skills. 
  • Multiple on-line training plans to choose from. 
  • Running app with performance tips & information for clinic participants only. 
  • Variety of socials.
  • Support and motivation from a professional running coach and P.A.C.E. team. 

Registration Fees
  • $325 + GST (for 16 weeks / 27 sessions) 
  • Full refund up to 1 week before the clinic starts provided there has been no access to training plans and the online performance centre. 
  • If access to the training plans and online performance centre have been sent out, participants will be entitled to a $75 refund. 
  • In-person training only.

Meet the Coach

Rene Unser has been coaching athletes for almost 2 decades and works with athletes of all levels, from all over the world. 

Prior to coaching, Rene had a successful career in the fitness industry for over 22yrs and motivating others to reach their goals is something that has always come naturally to her.

Rene is on the Salomon Pro Team and has always been active. She didn't waste any time jumping into endurance sports. Her first triathlon was the Oliver Half Ironman, first trail running race was a 5 day stage race in Thailand and her first mountain bike event was an 8 day stage race called the BC Bike race. Rene shares a passion for stage racing and is most proud of her 3rd place finish in 2016 & 2nd place finish in 2019 (with her partners) in the Transalpine Run.
