Performance Trail Running Clinics

Our run clinics help inspire, motivate and educate our community, through a welcoming & inclusive environment that encourages runners to reach their goals. You'll improve your speed, strength, stamina and endurance and learn more about training, racing, recovery, nutrition and more.

We will have different groups assigned to run leaders that will lead you through different long runs on specific Sundays. Wednesdays offer a variety of speed, strength and stamina workouts that are lead by professional running coach Rene Unser.

Our clinics are more than just a place to run. They are where friendships turn into family and together our community supports one another to reach goals, maximize potential and have fun.

Fall Maintenance Clinic

DURATION
9 weeks
TRAINING DAYS
Wednesday (speed): 6:00pm 
  • ​speed, strength, stamina intervals. 
  • Rene coaches outside the box and uses a variety of unique tactics to help her athletes reach peak performance and have fun.
  • This fall will be focus more on building strength through intervals, fartleks, hill repeats and more. 
  • Workouts are 60-90min

Sunday (long run): 8:00am 
  • mix of bread & butter, vertical challenges, enduro's, fast finish, progressions, adventure runs and more.
  • some long runs are solo-inspired and instructions will be given to encourage athletes to practice pacing, race strategy and developing their mental strength through a solo long run.
  • Long runs are 90min to 2hrs.
RUN LOCATIONS
    Wednesday & Sunday workouts will take place in a variety of locations. Mostly within Kelowna and West Kelowna.
TRAINING PRE-REQUISITES
  • currently running 2-3x's per week
  • ​2hr long run base
INCLUDED
  1. Wednesday coached speed/strength session. 
  2. Sunday long runs.
  3. Different training plans to choose from.
  4. Support and motivation from a professional running coach and P.A.C.E. team. ​​
TRAINING PLANS
  1. General Training Plan focusing on running 3x's per week / maintenance focus.
  2. General Training Plan focusing on running 4x's per week / maintenance focus.
  3. 8 week Training Plan for the 42k Wandering Moose
  4. 8 week Training Plan for the 21k Wandering Moose

Wandering Moose Training Plans start on August 7th. ​
REGISTRATION FEE
In-Person Training
$250 + GST
Full refund up to 1 week before the clinic starts.
Once access to the training plans and online performance center have been sent out, participants will be entitled to a $100 refund. 

Virtual Athletes
We will not be accepting any new virtual athletes in 2023.
Any virtual athletes who trained with us in 2020-2022 will have the option to continue and register for $200 + GST. ​

- Priority Registration opens August 3rd / closes August 6th.
- general training plans and Wandering Moose training plans will be mailed to participants on August 7th. 

Public
- Opens August 13th at 7:00pm PST. 
- Training plans will be emailed after your registration is complete. ​
COMMUNICATION
- Participants are required to use What's App. This will be our main communication source and replace email. 
- The other requirement is to have a google account for the google calendar which we use to share workout locations, workout details and event info. ​

Meet the Coach

Rene Unser has been coaching athletes for almost 2 decades and works with athletes of all levels, from all over the world. 

Prior to coaching, Rene had a successful career in the fitness industry for over 22yrs and motivating others to reach their goals is something that has always come naturally to her.

Rene has always been active and didn't waste any time jumping into endurance sports. Her first triathlon was the Oliver Half Ironman, first trail running race was a 5 day stage race in Thailand and her first mountain bike event was an 8 day stage race called the BC Bike race. Rene shares a passion for stage racing and is most proud of her 3rd place finish in 2016 & 2nd place finish in 2019 (with her partners) in the Transalpine Run and hopes to return for her 10th time at this legendary event, in 2023.
