12KM
Our NEW 12k course starts on the historic KVR, at 1250m. Runners will cruise along the KVR for 2.5k before dropping down the loamy trails of upper Myra Bailout trail and eventually merging into Angel Springs trail, which is a technical wonderland filled with roots and rocks and creek crossings. Although this time of year the creek flows gently, allowing easy passage. The landscapes will continue to change from shadowed moss and fern filled forest, to open, bright, bouncy bits of single track. The final stretch to the finish is less of a push and definitely more of a punch! Save some pow in the ol' quads for the final few kilometres. You can thank our course director, Trent for that. |
25KM
NEW in 2025, our middle distance event will start on the historic KVR, at 1250m, and treats runners to some of the best single track trails of upper Myra Bellevue Provincial Park!
Runners will have 1.5k of flat KVR bliss to spread out and warm up before hitting Capitan Nemo and starting their way down Lost Lake to Bellvue Access trail which eventually turns into Blancher's Silver. (one of the RD's favorite trails in the park)
At the bottom of Blancher's Silver the 25k runners will turn left and descend down Doc Savage before starting a 4km climb on Lookout & Crawford trails, back up to the KVR where you'll have a 6km flat stretch before you start your mega descent down Myra Bailout and Angel Spring trails. (following the final 12k course to the finish)
35KM
We've found the sweet spot for our long course this year. NEW in 2025, runners will Runners start on the historic KVR, at 1250m, and have 1.5k of flat KVR bliss to spread out and warm up before hitting Capitan Nemo and starting their way down Lost Lake to Bellvue Access trail. This upper section is the same as 2024, only you'll be running it in reverse.
At the bottom of Blancher's Silver there is a split where the 35k runners turn right & the 25k runners turn left before continuing their descent down Vapour trail's technical goodness. There's a little climb up to connector before you'll need to dial in your descending skills again down to aid station 1 near Crawford parking lot.
A good chuck of the next section of the 35k course runs the 2024 course in reverse. Cool, right? Yea, you'll make your way all the way back up to KVR via trails like Earring, Surf 'n' turf and Crawford trail. The same sweet views of the canyon await!
You'll need to find your legs to turn them over the next 6km along the KVR before linking into the 12km course to the finish. You'll hit your 2nd (and final) aid station at approx. 21km on the KVR, so you'll need to plan accordingly for the final 14k stretch to the finish line.
Kids Race
The distance is about 1.5km and all ages are welcome, however we typically see kids aged 5 to 10 participate. Kids under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult. It's fun event and not timed. Each kid gets a bib and finishers treat. The entry is $5 and 100% of the proceeds go towards the Canadian Mental Health Association, more specifically Georgia's Wish. Registration is online.
