WANDERING MOOSE

OCTOBER 10, 2026

Picture
12KM
The 12K is the perfect introduction to Wandering Moose — This distance has proper singletrack, with plenty of technical terrain packed into a relatively short course.

The race starts high on the historic Kettle Valley Railway at approximately 1,250m. You'll cruise along the KVR for roughly 2.5km, giving you a chance to settle into your rhythm before the fun begins. From there, the course drops onto the loamy trails of upper Myra Bailout before merging onto the infamous Angel Springs trail.

Angel Springs is a technical wonderland of roots, rocks and gentle creek crossings where the forest shifts constantly between shadowy, moss- and fern-covered singletrack and brighter, more open sections of fast, bouncy trail.

And then there's the finish... The course continues to descend and twist its way through the forest before delivering you to the finish at Okanagan Recreation Center.

A short course with spectacular trails, plenty of technical terrain and a surprisingly spicy finish. Save a little pow in those quads — you'll thank us later.

25KM
The 25K is the perfect middle ground — long enough to explore deep into the Myra Bellevue trail network, but short enough to keep the day feeling fun from start to finish.

Starting high on the historic Kettle Valley Railway at approximately 1,250m, you'll begin with about 1.5km of relatively flat KVR before turning onto Capitan Nemo towards Lost Lake and Bellevue Access.

The fun continues onto Blancher's Silver, a beautiful section of singletrack that drops steadily through the forest before connecting with Doc Savage where you'll climb back up to the KVR via Lookout and Crawford for a cruisy 6km of relatively flat running.

The course leaves the KVR and drops onto Myra Bailout, eventually joining Angel Springs for the final kilometres. This is where the Wandering Moose personality really comes through — technical, twisty and fun, with roots, rocks, creek crossings and beautiful loamy singletrack.

The final kilometres are predominantly downhill, but don't mistake that for easy. A little bit of everything, with plenty of runnable trail, a solid climb, some seriously fun descending and very spicy finish.

35KM
The Wandering Moose 35K is the big tour. Starting high on the historic KVR at approximately 1,250m, this course takes you on a long, varied journey through some of the best trails in Myra Bellevue Provincial Park. It's scenic, technical, mostly runnable and full of the little surprises that make this area so special.

You'll encounter a little bit of everything along the way — smooth, flowing singletrack, loamy forest floor, technical descents, steep climbs, rocky sections and plenty of hidden gems.

This is the full Wandering Moose experience. Big views, beautiful trails, technical singletrack, sneaky climbs and a whole lot of descending. Come prepared to run, climb, descend and smile.

Kids Race
The distance is about 1km and all ages are welcome, however we typically see kids aged 5 to 10 participate. Kids under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult. It's fun event and not timed. Each kid gets a bib and finishers treat. The entry is $5 and 100% of the proceeds go towards the Canadian Mental Health Association, more specifically Georgia's Wish. Registration is online.

Race Day Transportation & Parking

There is no parking available at the KVR start area for any of the three race distances.
Runners have two options for getting to the start:
  1. Take the race shuttle from Okanagan Recreation Center — $10 per person.
  2. Arrange your own drop-off at the KVR start.
Add the shuttle to your registration for $10

Race ShuttleShuttles will depart from Okanagan Recreation Center and transport runners to the KVR start. The drive takes approximately 10 minutes.

Shuttle departure times:
  • 35km: 7:15 am
  • 25km: 8:15 am
  • 12km: 9:15 am
Runners may bring a small drop bag on the shuttle. Please clearly label your bag with your name and bib number. All drop bags will be transported back to the finish line and placed on a designated tarp for pickup after your race.

Please note: PACE Trail Runs is not responsible for wet, damaged, or lost drop bags. Please use a waterproof bag or container if your belongings need to stay dry.

If You Are Being Dropped Off
If you choose to have someone drive you to the KVR start, your driver will not be able to park at the start.

There will be a designated turnaround/drop-off area where runners must be ready to exit the vehicle. Please have all of your gear organized and be prepared to get out quickly so traffic can keep moving.

Drop-off must take place before 7:15 am.
This means that if you are being dropped off for one of the later-starting distances, you will need to be prepared to wait at the KVR for approximately 45 minutes or more before your race begins. Please keep in mind that the KVR can be quite cool in October, so come prepared with appropriate layers to stay warm while you wait.

Our recommendation: If you don't have someone available to drop you off, we strongly recommend adding the race shuttle to your registration.
shuttle list as of AUGUST 18, 2026
